Consider the space and workplace rules
A ventilated studio and a small shared office create different conditions. Some workplaces are fragrance-free or include colleagues with sensitivities. Respect formal policies and direct requests; no fragrance is more important than another person's ability to use the space comfortably.
Start with an easy-to-control profile
Fresh, marine, aromatic, softly floral, musky and smooth woody profiles can be useful starting points when you want a composed daytime feel. This is not a rule: a sweet or spicy perfume can also work when applied thoughtfully, while even a fresh scent can become intrusive when oversprayed.
Apply lightly before you arrive
Begin with fewer sprays than you would use outdoors or for an evening event. Applying before the commute gives the opening time to settle. Avoid respraying at your desk or in a washroom where the fragrance remains concentrated for the next person.
Choose for the whole working day
Do not evaluate only the first ten minutes. Read the heart and base notes and consider whether the dry-down still feels appropriate for close conversation. A perfume that becomes warmer or sweeter later may need an even lighter application.
Build a small work wardrobe
You do not need a different bottle for every outfit. One airy option and one smooth woody or floral option can cover changing weather and dress codes. Track what feels comfortable after a full day and repeat the choices that work reliably for you.
